OUR SCHOOL BIO –
Third Episode

Welcome to the third episode of our series exploring the story of Language Atelier, our language school based in Prague. After his stay in Berlin Lorenzo, the school’s director, had to return to Padua, Italy. However, soon he found the way to move again to Prague. Let’s explore why and how!

THE GREAT COMEBACK

Upon returning to Padua, I applied for a Master’s degree in Czech and German studies, a natural progression from my Bachelor’s. While I returned to my old life and habits, something had changed within me after my experience abroad. I felt unsettled; Padua could no longer fully satisfy my curiosity and desire for discovery.

THE VODNÍK

I discovered that my university offered several programs for studying or applying for internships abroad, and among those was Prague. I was already familiar with this marvelous city, as I had spent approximately three months there the previous year writing my Bachelor thesis on a mythological figure from Czech popular culture called “vodník”, a kind of elf that inhabits the lakes of the Czech Republic.

Vodník, the mythological figure of the Czech folklore. According to ancient tales, he used to live in the depths of the lakes drowning people and keeping their souls inside his pots.

BACK TO PRAGUE

The decision was made! Thanks to a schoolmate who was already working in Prague, I found a company willing to host trainees – an Italian real estate agency. In conclusion, it took me less than a year to leave again, and this time, the destination was Prague!
