In the previous three episodes of Language Atelier’s biography, I shared my journey as the school’s director. After my first experience living abroad in Berlin, I returned to Italy to continue my studies, but later found an internship opportunity in Prague. You can read the previous episodes on our webpage.I was excited to spend three months in Prague during the spring of 2008.
According to the internship program, I was supposed to work as a Czech-Italian translator for an Italian real estate magazine. However, I spent most of my time in the office working on a translation of an article about Czech literature that my professor would later publish on his magazine.
During that spring in Prague, I had the chance to improve my Czech language skills and immerse myself in the local culture – and not in the Vltava river like it can seem in the picture beside .
The idea of living in Prague in the future began to take root in my mind. The more I explored the city, the more I felt that Prague could be the right place to build my future. Once my internship ended in June and I returned to Italy, I found myself obsessively thinking about how to return to Prague, but this time for a longer stay. Stay tuned to discover how my 15-year journey in Prague began in the next episodes.
